The Bauhaus designers and ecologists shared a belief that the human household should be modelled on the household of nature. They saw the garden and the home as critical parts of one’s living system. The design principles for “out” were the same as for “in”. The use of glass windows and walls aspired to minimizing artificial barriers, and a detailed treatment of green spaces was an inseparable part of planning a house or a neighborhood.
In this project, a neglected original Bauhaus facade in Tel Aviv was treated with relationship to its nature; the elements that construct its unique appearance, it’s cyclic routines, and the way we can transfer the “natural” law system of the building into a new ecosystem.
